Hi all… firstly… sorry for the English!!

I currently have a livebox 5 installed, but would love to switch to a livebox 6 to take advantage of the 2,5Gb Ethernet port.

Orange won’t provide a livebox 6 without moving to a new plan… however I see you can but a livebox 6 on eBay for only 30€.

Does anyone know if these boxes are locked to our accounts via their MAC address? Or can I just buy a livebox 6, plug in the fibre, use my username and password, and be happy?

Hi,

Orange only checks the serial number from the ONT, hardware version and fti/password. With these informations you can connect to their network, even with 3rd party hardware as many already did. There is a section dedicated to this hack in this forum.

In you case, I am not sure it will work because the S/N of the ONT will probably change. I am not sure if using the same SFP from the LB5 will keep you the old S/N.

Yes, ideally I’d like to have my UDM Pro connected directly, but it seems that it’s not as simple as it could be.
