J'ai des erreurs sur le serveur https://testdebit.info (https://testdebit.info) qui me font dire que son disque dur est HS.
Ce qui me pose problème c'est que SMART indique tout va bien...
Pour la troisième fois son file système / est passé en "read only" après une série d’erreurs.

Pourquoi SMART trouve que le disque est sain ?
une conséquence du fait que le système de fichier passe en read only est le fait que les taches de la crontab ne s'exécutent plus.
Et certaines posent problème quand je les exécute a la main alors que /home est en read-write :

Peut-être un problème d'alimentation électrique du disque ?
Pour ce genre de problème, une écoute attentive est sans doute la meilleure chose à faire, encore faut-il avoir un accès physique au disque dur en question...

Je vais pouvoir vous dire car je vais récupérer le disque dur.
Autre chose les problèmes n'arrivent que sur / une petite partition de 30 Go peu utilisée (même les logs sont sur /home) alors /home fait 1,9 To est fortement sollicité en lecture / écriture 24h/24.

La règle avec SMART c'est:
si SMART dit que y'a un probleme alors y'a réellement un probleme.
si SMART ne dit rien alors ca ne veut pas dire qu'il n'y pas de probleme.
C'est comme ca qu'il faut le comprendre et l'utiliser.
SMART peut dire ok mais le disque est en train de lâcher. Faut regarder le compteur de reallocation (avec "smartctl -a /dev/sda" par exemple).
et les seuils de SMART (smartctl -H /dev/sda).
Des fois les seuils sont trop hauts et n'avertissent que trop tard si on surveille pas.

Déclenche un autotest du disque. C'est assez long, il faut faire des "-a" régulièrement pour vérifier l'avancement. Si le disque a des erreurs, le test va les trouver. Si aucune erreur n'est trouvé, le disque est bon : vérifier la connexion d'alim ou data ou éventuellement problème de firmware/incompatibilité avec le contrôleur.

J'ai acheté un disque dur de remplacement (sur GrosBill) : un Segate Barracuda ST20000DM001

Unfortunately, even when we move away from bit addressing in favor of head and sector numbers, we still reach the limit of our ability to address all of the bits when taken together. Let's take a look at the ATA interface. There are 28 bits used for the sector number interface with the operating system, BIOS and the hard disk. This means a hard disk can have a maximum of 2^28 or 268,435,456 sectors of 512 bytes, placing the ATA interface maximum at 128 GiB or approximately 137.4 GB.

Que ce soit le serveur ou mon PC, il ont tous les deux des disques de plus de 137 Go (500 Go pour le serveur sur lequel j'ai branché le disque dur de 2To et 1 To pour mon PC perso)

J'ai renvoyé le disque dur à Segate, leur support téléphonique est sans attente, efficace et il accompagne bien le client.
En attendant, le disque dur malade continue sa vie.
J'ai du faire un reboot en étant devant le serveur afin de corriger des erreurs sur la partition / qui était passée en lecture seule. Si on n'est pas devant le serveur il reste bloqué avec un message qui demande ce qu'il faut faire avec les erreurs de la partition.

Je suis toujours avec "SMART Error Log Version: 1 No Errors Logged"
Le "Power_On_Hours" est également incorect : il parle de 352 heures alors que le disque tourne 24h/24 depuis un peu plus de 2an et demi.

Etrange tout ca... Mais pour un serveur de tests de débits, pourquoi ne pas essayer XFS plutôt que EXT4 ?

Je n'ai toujours pas changé le disque dur du serveur, vu que le disque dur de remplacement étais HS. Le SAV Segate m'a rapidement renvoyé un nouveau disque dur de remplacement que je n'ai pas été mettre sur le serveur car tout semblais ok.
Hier, c'est la partition sda3 (/home) qui est passé en read-only.
