... en tout cas l'information est intéressante: Je ne vais pas commander de SFP+ codés à FS pour ces satanées 82598EB, qui je pense seront bonnes pour faire de la déco sur un mur :-|

J'ai commandé à Infractive 2 SFP+ 10G-LR monomode codés Intel et cela fonctionne parfaitement sans passer d'option :

Bah non, pour le coup, avec les DAC passifs sans patch sur le driver, les miennes sont passées directement sur les proxmox et le freenas. Du coup j'ai ressorti les X520 pour les mettre dans les machines où je vais avoir besoin de SR-IOV et d'optiques différentes…

La XL710 est clairement pas un bon plan. Elle ne sait pas lire sur l'i2c et est globalement plus lente que la X520 d'après tous les benchs que j'ai pu trouver. Je vais finir par croire qu'en dehors de la X520 point de salut.

La XL710 gère le bus PCI Express v3 et sait gérer des ports 40 Gb/s ce que je ne sais pas faire la X520 qui ne monte pas au-dessus de PCIe v2.

Je suis preneur de tes comparatifs, je n'ai trouvé que ceux d'Intel :

On trouve plus facilement du XFP pour du 10Gb maintenant ..

Pareil, je ne comprends pas ce que tu dis...
Décidèment, tu racontes vraiment pas mal de choses très douteuses : faisceaux hertziens qui seraient interdits, bassins de rétention pour refroidissement à eau perdue, et maintenant SFP+ qui seraient rares.
